Corona Virus is a global pandemic that stands for severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2). The first case of corona was found in the city Wuhan of china from where it started to spread in various countries. On 22nd March 2020 Sunday, Honorable Prime Minister of India .Mr. Narendra Modi announced a Janta Curfew to stop the spreading of the Coronavirus but there was a complete lockdown from 24 March 2020.

How coronavirus spreads :

Coronavirus spreads through the liquid discharge of the infected person while sneezing. The liquid discharge goes up to 1 meter so it is necessary to maintain a distance of 1 meter from an infected person. coronavirus spreads when a person comes in contact with saliva or liquid discharge of nose from the infected person.

Symptoms of coronavirus :

According to WHO(World Health Organisation), People may be sick with the virus for 1 to 14 days before developing symptoms. The most common symptoms of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) are fever, tiredness, and dry cough. Most people (about 80%) recover from the disease without needing special treatment.

More rarely, the disease can be serious and even fatal. Older people, and people with other medical conditions (such as asthma, diabetes, or heart disease), maybe more vulnerable to becoming severely ill.

People may experience :

  1. Cough

2. Fever

3. Tiredness

4. Difficulty breathing (severe cases)

Symptoms of COVID-19

People who have pre-medical conditions or Older, people are prone to catch this coronavirus as there immune system becomes weak.

Prevention of coronavirus :

  1. Wash our hands frequently with water or alcohol-based sanitizer for 20 sec after an interval of 20 mins.

2. Cover your mouth with a tissue while sneezing and coughing.

3. Maintain a distance of 3 feet from the person having a cough or cold.

4. Don’t touch your eyes, nose or mouth again and again.

Various doctors, nurses, police and other volunteers of various organizations and NGO,s are putting their maximum efforts to fight against COVID-19.I am also working as a volunteer at INDIARedefined ( www.indiaredefined.org )to benefit the society.

Government is also taking various steps to control the spread of COVID-19 in India like by :

1) Implementing strict lockdown,

2) By promoting social distancing through various advertisements on TV and other social media platforms.

3) The government is also providing food to poor or daily wage laborers as there is a strict lockdown condition in India.

4) Various NGOs and government organizations are working together to spread awareness about coronavirus.

5) Government workers are sanitizing the streets and contentment areas to prevent any further spread of the coronavirus.

6) The government has classified hospitals into 3 zones Red, Orange, and Green.Hospitals having Red zone are specially dedicated for the treatment of coronavirus and orange and green zone hospitals are classified according to the severity rate.
